The National science day was celebrated to mark the history of the Raman effect for which sir C.V Raman was awarded nobel price in 1930. From the year1991 every year the theme was decided and the celebration is carried out all over India that includes live project demonstration, debates, quiz competition, lectures nad science mo el exhibition a many more.

These year the event was inspired by Dr. Prabhudas Patel and the responsibility was shouldered to Dr. Pina Trivedi, Dr. Apexa Raval, Dr. Kruti Rajvik, Ms. Toral Kobavala , Ms. Kinjal Gajjar and Ms. Bhairavi Vajaria.

There were two competition arranged for the M.Sc cancer biology students 1) Elocution competition 2) quiz competition. The topic of the elocution competition was “Scope of Cancer Biology”.

The first completion i.e. Elocution competition was conducted by Ms. Bhairavi Vajaria (Biochemistry Research Division). Total 6 students from semester IV M.Sc cancer biology had participated. All students had delivered a good speech on this topic. This competition was judged by Dr. Pina Trivedi, Dr. Apexa Raval, Dr. Kruti Rajvik and Ms. Bhairavi Vajaria.

The other is the quiz competition arranged for both semester II and IV M.Sc cancer biology students and was conducted and evaluated by Ms. Kinjal Gajjar and Ms. Toral Kobawala (Department of Molecular Endocrinology). There were 15 students from semester II and 6 students of semester IV had participated and showed their good performance.

The quiz was followed by the concluding remarks of Dr. Prabhudas S. Patel, HOD of Cancer Biology. He has delivered a very informative lecture on Cancer research.
